ACR 643 AND ECCE HOMO

ACR 643 is a marble head of an Aphrodite found on the Acropolis of Athens. The British archaeologist Humphry Payne considered this ‘one of the great works of Attic sculpture.’ She is paired with an Ecce Homo (behold the Man). This project was again an investigation into prototypes of iconic imagery and objects of devotion.
